KING CORRIDOR Beautification Project

The Project:
To develop a "Street School of Art," a project of the Bronze Triangle Redevelopment Program coordinated by artivist Mario Torero.

Scope:
We have adopted a section of Imperial Avenue, between 25th and 32nd streets, to create an arts corridor. The plan involves selecting ten sites along Imperial Avenue for various installations of artworks. Area merchants and residents will participate in the creation of each art piece under the direction of, and along with, selected artists.

Art:
The art will consist of murals and possibly multimedia designs incorporating landscapes, signage, mosaics and "found object" sculptures. The finished product should be permanent; however, some temporary proposals may be considered.

Design:
Each design will be presented to the merchants and residents within the immediate area of the designated site for input and approval prior to execution.

Funding:
Funding is provided by the Bronze Triangle Corporation redevelopment program through special grants and donations.

Budget:
We hope to fund ten sites for the initial pilot project.
